ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

Arnold Andersen, M.D. is the worlds leading authority on eating disorders in men. Since 1991, he has been the director of the eating disorders Program at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, where he is also a professor of Psychiatry. In addition to treating patients and teaching, he has written several texts and has contributed more than 200 articles in scientific publications. He has also lectured widely to medical and psychological groups worldwide. Dr. Andersen has appeared on a number of national television programs in which he has discussed eating disorders and he has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and the New York Times.

Leigh Cohn, M.A.T., CEDS who received an M.A.T. from Northwestern University in English Education, is the co-author of several books on eating disorders as well as the Editor-in-chief of Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention (Routledge). He is a past-president of Independent Book Publishers of America (IBPA), formerly known as Publishers Marketing Association (PMA), a non-profit trade association of 3,000 publishing companies throughout the United States. He has been a featured speaker at universities and professional conferences throughout the United States and Canada, focusing on the topic of men and eating disorders. In addition to his writing for Gürze, Leigh has had several books published by other companies, the most recent being Current Findings on Males with Eating Disorders (2013). Thomas Holbrook, M.D. has been treating males with eating disorders for over twenty years in his psychiatric practice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. His own story of coming to grips with an eating disorder and compulsive over-exercising is documented in Making Weight and he speaks frequently about his longtime eating problems and his recovery to professional and community groups. He has appeared as an eating disorders expert on several television programs and his articles have appeared in numerous professional publications.
